“IKEA preowned” is the name of the new second-hand furniture sales platform, which will soon be included in our guide to places where you can buy these products and give them a second life.
But this store also has a special feature: it not only allows you to buy second-hand furniture, but also to sell it.
Already tested in countries such as Spain and Norway, the Swedish brand’s new site for buying and selling furniture has now arrived in our country, taking into account the growing trend, which confirms that 10% of the furniture market is second-hand, while 52% of consumers regularly buy this type of item as a way of saving money.
For Maria João Franco, Digital Portfolio & Deployment Leader at IKEA Portugal,
With “IKEA preowned”, we are providing our customers with an agile, intuitive and secure platform, which not only allows them to access our products at an even more affordable price, but also extends their life cycle.”
Mercedes Gutierrez, New Business & Innovation Area Manager for IKEA globally, said,
The growing interest in second-hand furniture reflects a significant change in the way people furnish their homes. We want to make these purchases more accessible and integrated into the customer experience.”
