The host is the same and, whether for lunch or dinner, you’ll only find the most appetizing regional food, made with a lot of love and passion.
And, of course, the crunchy Leitão à Bairrada is the main star, which is roasted in the restaurant itself, as the rules and, of course, tradition dictate.
A suckling pig with traditions
Going to Eliseu dos Leitões is not the same as going to a restaurant where suckling pig is also served.
Because we know the origins and traditions of the “Eliseu” family very well, eating a suckling pig in this restaurant has a completely different meaning.
To enter Eliseu dos Leitões is to breathe in Portuguese culture, as well as the delicious smell of freshly roasted suck ling pig.
What will it be? Leitão à Bairrada, of course!
Having made our introductions, our suggestion is an option that will leave you surrendered to the flavors of the region best known for these little gastronomic wonders: Leitão à Bairrada with a drink at Eliseu dos Leitões.
The menu includes “Croquete de Leitão”, a portion of “Leitão à Bairrada” (300gr), and homemade French fries, orange and suckling pig sauce as side dishes.
To drink, a flute of Bairrada sparkling wine, beer or water/refrigerant. All this for €19 per person.
This option is available from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12 noon to 3pm and from 7pm to 10.30pm.
More than suckling pig
You’ve already figured out that suckling pig is the house specialty, right? So when you ask for the menu, you shouldn’t be surprised at what you can try at Eliseu dos Leitões:

We wanted to talk to you about this delicacy from the center-north of Portugal. It’s so good that we’re going to hesitate about what to choose the next time we visit Eliseu dos Leitões.
The meat, divinely well roasted and full of flavor; the potatoes, golden from the oven and round in shape; the sautéed greens, tasting of something and the best olive oil; and the crispy rice, oh the rice, sticky and intense as only those who know how, know how to cook it this way. We loved it and we’ll do it again!

Eliseu dos Leitões is in Carnide, near the Colombo shopping center.
The space is spacious and offers plenty of light, as well as a modern counter with seating and a cozy terrace, perfect for those sunny days.
