The E.Leclerc hypermarket in Bobadela ( Santa Iria de Azóia), in the municipality of Loures, confirmed the permanent closure of its operations (possibly as early as March 31).
To clear out inventory before closing its doors, the French retailer launched a total clearance sale that drew hundreds of shoppers to the store: with everything at 30% off until the last day.
But since March 20, the sale has gotten even bigger: with an immediate 50% discount storewide.
There are already nearly empty shelves

Demand for the sale items was quite high, so we found several (almost) empty shelves.
From meat to fish, not to mention eggs and electronics, which were the first to “fly off” the shelves, especially the washing machines on display at the entrance.

There are still some frozen foods, clothing, and dairy products like yogurt and cheese, as well as various brands of wine and detergents.
Plus, those with a sweet tooth can rest easy, as there are still delicious options for sweets and savory snacks.
As for household cleaning products, as of 8 p.m. yesterday, we could see that there are still plenty of detergents and other household cleaning liquids available.
Where is it located?

Opened in December 2008, the E.Leclerc hypermarket has a total floor area of approximately 10,000 square meters, complemented by 3,000 square meters of warehouse space, 900 parking spaces, and a gas station.
The closure comes amid the brand’s gradual retreat from Portugal: as early as February 2023, the French retailer had given a first sign of withdrawal by shutting down its online store in the country.
