Between Cais do Sodré and Santos, there’s an open-air courtyard that few people know about, but this summer it’s offering a program designed for those staying in the city: the Courtyard by Novo Mundo, connected to the Novo Mundo Restaurant, has become a gathering spot featuring music, food, and art throughout the week.
On Tuesdays, barbecue with a DJ set
Every Tuesday through October 27, the patio hosts the Fire & Feast Barbecue: the DJ set starts at 5 p.m., and the barbecue is served between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with outdoor seating and music ranging from global to laid-back.
A dinner where art comes to life at the table
On Fridays and Saturdays, Novo Mundo hosts the 7 Paintings Dinner Show, an immersive dinner experience lasting about two and a half hours, in which seven works of art—inspired by artists such as Michelangelo, Picasso, and Van Gogh—come to life on the table through projections, music, and storytelling, each associated with a different culinary moment.
The experience can be complemented with a cocktail on the patio, before or after dinner. Reservations are required, and prices start at €129 per person.
Lillet in the late afternoon
Through October, late afternoons also feature sessions dedicated to Lillet, with Lillet Tonic taking center stage. The upcoming dates are August 19, September 16, and October 21, always from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
For those who prefer a simpler outing, Novo Mundo also serves an executive lunch menu on weekdays.
