Alenquer, also known as Vila Presépio at this time of year, is once again celebrating the Christmas season in a big way , with a pyromusical show, street entertainment, a concert by Pharol and a Christmas Ball, as well as the traditional Christmas Ticket, Christmas Tree, Nativity Scene and Craftsman competitions.
Less than an hour from Lisbon is one of the most incredible Christmas events we know of, especially known for its giant n ativity scene, undoubtedly one of the largest in Portugal and certainly the largest in the vicinity of Lisbon.
It’s no coincidence that they call it Vila Presépio, where every year they show a nativity scene on a scale rarely seen in Portugal or anywhere else in the world.
Pyromusical show
This year, the organization has once again created a program that pays special attention to all lovers of this Christmas season, through a theme park on Lisbon’s doorstep, which will open its doors with the lighting of the nativity scene and a pyromusical show on November 30 at 22:30.
Christmas in Alenquer
Considered the Christmas park with the largest covered area in Portugal, the “Alenquer, Presépio de Portugal” event will be open to the public until January 6, 2026, with various attractions, including the return of the Christmas train, which will travel through the streets of the town accompanied by Christmas music.
Kids will also love skating on the indoor ice rink, which is sure to bring fun moments to the whole family.
Nativity scene, exhibitions, circus, theater, market… and prizes
Other attractions this Christmas in Alenquer include the circus, plays, the ecological ice rink, the market, the carousel, exhibitions and workshops, all of which you can enjoy until January 6th.
