The month of June is synonymous with “wild parties” in Lisbon, and the spirit of the Popular Saints will come to life through countless celebrations, such as the Grande Arraial de Benfica, taking place from June 18 to 21 on Alameda Padre Álvaro Proença.
For four days, music and tradition go hand in hand with an unparalleled festive atmosphere, and entertainment is guaranteed with a musical lineup that won’t disappoint.
Van Zee, D.A.M.A., Delfins, Quim Barreiros, and Sons do Minho are some of the confirmed artists, who promise to make the Benfica neighborhood a must-visit destination for many “festival-goers.”
Entertainment and food for everyone

Like other Saint Anthony’s Day festivals in Lisbon, at the Grande Arraial de Benfica you’ll be swept up in an incredible festive atmosphere, where folk music and food and drink take center stage.
Here, you’ll find plenty of traditional food: sardines on bread, caldo verde, and bifanas —all just as tradition dictates. And the best part? The streets of this part of the capital will turn into authentic improvised dance floors . After all, several (well-known) Portuguese artists will be providing the music for the party.
Looking at the lineup, it’s easy to see that this Popular Saints Festival in Benfica is one of the city’s most popular, not only for its musical offerings but also for the festive atmosphere you can experience here.
It is, without a doubt, one of our favorites. And admission is free, too!
