We decided to create a list of some of the best works by national Street Art artists that you can see for free in Lisbon.
It’s true! You don ‘t have to pay for a ticket to enjoy this urban art . It’s there for all to see, all over the capital, which is, par excellence, one of the most popular places in the world for this type of artist.
We love seeing a good mural. I hope you do too, and that you visit them as soon as you can!
Still in the Arroios neighborhood, and also very recent, is one of the murals executed by Mariana Santos. Located on Rua Nova do Desterro, this mural is based on the work of photographer Artur Pastor and pays homage to the way commerce was done in the 50s.
In the Benfica neighborhood you’ll find at least 15 personalities who deserve to be highlighted as part of this Lisbon neighborhood, through an urban art mural designed by Tomás Reis and painted by the artists Edis One and Pariz One.
On the day the Portuguese Nobel laureate turned 98, one of the best-known artists in our area, Alexandre Farto aka Vhils, paid him a simply fantastic tribute. This was the final result.
Also very recent, this time in the shelters of the Apeadeiro de Marvila, is the work of the artist ls_official_1, with a representation of four faces that symbolize the three most representative ethnic groups of the population of the Marvila neighbourhood, on a canvas that took 346 hours of work using only brushes.
In the Alvalade neighborhood, there is a heartfelt tribute to the late Carlos do Carmo, in a large-scale work by artist Mario Belém. It’s called “Lisboa Menina & Moça” and was painted on the exterior walls of the Manuel Chaves Caminha Library in Alvalade.
