Of all the bars in Alfama, there is one that fills our bellies with both craft beers and snacks.
Opened in 2018, at the time in another part of Lisbon, Crafty Corner stands out for its range of craft beers (12 different ones), mostly produced in the Lisbon region, from the Montijo until Sintra.
And we had the chance to try them all, ingeniously served on a meter-long board, a kind of cheese and sausage board, but in a beer version.
From Cais do Sodré to Alfama
An unmissable destination and space for those who love “different” beers, with that special artisanal touch, this is one of the bars in Alfama where you’ll also find a very friendly and cozy atmosphere, from which we highlight all the industrial and retro-style decoration, as well as the medieval architectural elements that you can immediately feel all over the floor and ceiling, from where huge ancestral arches stand out from a Alfama centenary.
Crafty Corner has moved from an already lively area in Lisbon, do Cais do Sodré, for one of Lisbon’s most typical neighborhoods, now located in one of its main arteries, at Rua de São João da Praça 93-95, near the famous Lisbon Cathedral.
Inside you’ll also find a space with huge tables, perfect for sharing with other visitors and lovers of craft beers, as well as a giant window with a small high table facing the street.
That’s where we stayed to enjoy an incredible menu!
Snack menu… and more beers
The “meter of beer” we were served went perfectly with the meal we had chosen to enjoy:
- Sardine Brushetta with Fresh Tomatoes (7€)
- Chicken wings with sauce, choose from Sweet Chilli, Blue Cheese or BBQ, (€9 + €2 sauce)
- Sautéed Octopus Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries (10,50€)
- Mother’s Cachaço Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries (9.50€)
There are plenty of other delicious snacks to enjoy here, but without a doubt the sandwiches we chose filled us up, as did the famous Asinhas de Frango (chicken wings ), voted by many as probably the best in Lisbon.
This “little corner” in Alfama is indeed special, offering a perfect combination of local flavors and special beers.
And then there’s the historic feel, which gives the whole place a very welcoming atmosphere full of good vibes.
The Crafty Corner is open every day from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is ready for all kinds of social and family events. You just have to go and check it out!
