Working from home sounds like paradise, but there comes a time when you need to break your routine and look for places that will give you extra motivation. We went to discover those places!
The pandemic meant that many people had to work from home. Then, when everything returned to normal, going back to the office seemed strange… a thing of the past, right?
So we went looking for places in Lisbon where you can enjoy the views while doing what you have to do.
Choose your favorite or take the opportunity to try them all before deciding on the one that will become your office in the future:
Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has Wi-Fi open to all visitors, throughout the building and garden. So choose the place where you feel most comfortable and off you go.
As for using the library, it is restricted to students who are carrying out research and therefore need the books there. If that’s not your case, it’s best to find another space, which is certainly not lacking.
Address: Avenida de Berna 45 (Plaza de España)
Moxy Lisbon City

Whether you’re working in solitary mode on one of the many sofas or at the long communal tables, or meeting with your team in the Amália Room (a conference room that offers unique comfort and privacy), at Moxy Lisbon City you’ll find it hard to stay in one place, you’ll want to experience all the sensations that this space in the center of Lisbon offers you.
We’ve fallen completely in love and, now that we can telecommute more days, we’ve swapped the dining table at home for one of these areas at Moxy Lisbon City, which are undoubtedly much more visually appealing and even highly productive.
Address: Avenida Duque de Loulé 2-8 (Saldanha)
Josephine Bistrô & Bar
Josephine is located in Largo do Intendente and, during the day, it’s a good place to work. At night, however, it can be very crowded and the temptation to put work aside and have a few drinks is very great.
Josephine has free Wi-Fi, very friendly staff and good options for eating. The lunch menu is always worthwhile, and the teas they offer also make afternoons more enjoyable.
Address: Largo do Intendente Pina Manique 59 (Intendente)
Choupana Caffe

This place seems to have discovered the formula for success: everyone loves it. Choupana Caffe is for those days when the work you have to do doesn’t require that much concentration, because it can be a bit noisy .
At the same time, it’s one of those environments that inspires precisely because of the movement. The value for money is great and it’s right by the Saldanha metro.
Address: Avenida da República 25A (Saldanha)
Camões Municipal Library
Did you know that very close to the Bica Elevator you can find a place of silence and peace?
On the second floor of a building in Largo Calhariz is the Camões Municipal Library, which is super cute and has a few rooms with Wi-Fi so you can relax and concentrate.
Address: Largo Calhariz 17, 1º Esq. (Bairro Alto)
Hello, Kristof

Poço dos Negros is a trendy part of town, and that’s where Hello, Kristof, a Scandinavian-inspired coffee shop, is located . The space has a shared table and it’s common to find people working on their laptops while sipping a good coffee.
In case you’re on those days when you just want inspiration, they also have independent magazines available for consultation.
Address: Poço dos Negros 103 (São Bento)
Cinemateca Portuguesa
There are two places where you can work at the Cinemateca Portuguesa: either in the “cafeteria”, which is actually called Restaurante 39 Degraus; or in the library, which is super comfortable and cozy.
Address: Rua Barata Salgueiro 39
