Around here, we’re still struggling to find the best smash burger in Lisbon, and the one we found at SmashVille really filled us up, especially the bacon option (€10.90), which has the thinnest, crispiest strips of pork belly we ‘ ve ever had in this type of burger.
Although Smashville maintains its strategy of locating its spaces inside shopping centers (see addresses below), which isn’t really our thing, the truth is that it’s well worth the trip… and it ‘s not just for the delicious smash burgers!
The Secret Lisbon experience
On the menu at this house you’ll find three smash varieties, always with the option of one or two patties (which costs an extra €1): the SmashVille (€9.90); the Chesse (€9.90); and the Bacon (€10.90). There’s also a chicken option for the same price, but it doesn’t count in this tasting.
We tried the SmashVille Original (bread, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and house sauce) where we noticed the lack of a more acidic ingredient, like the pickle, which makes all the difference in this type of smash , but which you can find in the Cheese option.
We also tried the Bacon version (bread, cheddar cheese, bacon and smoked sauce) which is undoubtedly the star of this house, with the crispiest strips we’ve ever tasted, but with a sauce that could have been a little spicier.
For this menu, we were suggested the classic fries (there are also sweet potato fries ), and it was here that we were most surprised: they were the best sticks we’ve had in recent times, without any comparison with the competition, thanks to a crunchiness that you can only understand by tasting them.
Finally, of course, we tried the house cookie, very hot and with a very intense chocolate flavor.
All in all, we really liked SmashVille’s proposals (especially the fries), although its location in shopping centers is more of a hindrance than an advantage, at least for us, who like street food better. However, for those who have a shopping center on their doorstep, it’s a luxury to be able to count on SmashVille to “satisfy your hunger” for smash burgers.
