Eating at the Horta do Páteo Alfacinha restaurant isn’t cheap, but the quality of the products you’ll find here is excellent, in a very fair price-quality ratio for the gastronomic experience offered by the same owners of Casa do Marquês, who are reopening this typical Lisbon venue for another summer season (it only opens at this time of year).
And, as always in every season, the Horta do Páteo Alfacinha restaurant returns with a new menu, which this time celebrates the authentic flavors of Portuguese gastronomy, under the signature of Chef Humberto Santos, with a menu that proposes a journey between tradition and creativity, highlighting seasonal ingredients from local producers.
What’s new on the menu
If you remember, in this video we shot in the summer of 2024, we opened our summer season with a generous dose of grilled sardines with batata a murro and a salad from the Algarve and, of course, the famous tiger prawns, exemplarily cooked on the grill at this restaurant, which also offers one of the most breathtaking views over Lisbon. Only seen!
This year, as starters, you’ll find appetizers such as Peixinhos da Horta with Chipotle Aioli, Roasted Black Pork Sausage and Black Pork Cheek Mini-preguinhos. Nham nham… we’re already salivating.
The main dishes include the reinvented Arroz Malandrinho de Polvo e Coentros, Risotto de Mushrooms Shiitake and Bacalhau Asa Branca à Lagareiro.
On the grill, “that” Giant Tiger Prawn is joined by Grilled Octopus with Padrón Peppers and Azorean Veal Cutlet.
When it comes to desserts, your mouth will also water, with options such as Abade de Priscos Pudding, 70% Chocolate Mousse with Vanilla Sauce, Caramel Fondant and Casa do Marquês artisan ice creams, including exclusive flavors such as Azeitão Pie.
As for the wines, the list offers options from various Portuguese regions, as well as classic and signature cocktails, sangrias, craft beers and a selection of digestifs and fortifieds, designed to harmonize with this menu.
And an incredible view of the Tagus
As we’ve already mentioned, Horta do Páteo Alfacinha isn’t just about good, traditional food.
In a typically Lisbon atmosphere, you’ll be amazed when you sit on this terrace and look out over the Tagus and a magnificent panoramic view, capable of making any meal memorable. We loved it and would love to go back!
