Lisbon’s 2027 music calendar continues to take shape with yet another confirmation: the return of the American band Megadeth for a concert on April 13 at Campo Pequeno.
The announcement was made this Monday, August 3, by the promoter Prime Artists via a social media post, in which they stated that this show will conclude the European leg of Megadeth’s farewell tour, “Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations.”
According to the same source, the concert will also feature Black Label Society and Testament, two other well-known names in the metal music scene.
Confirmation Following the Controversy
The confirmation of Megadeth’s new concert comes almost a month after the band canceled its performance at the Evil Live festival, where the American group was scheduled to play on July 5, the same day as Marilyn Manson, Mastodon, and Converge.
According to SIC Notícias, at the time, the concert was canceled about 25 minutes after the scheduled start time, and the situation sparked controversy, as the reasons given by the band and the promoter itself were contradictory.
On one hand, Megadeth cited technical issues; on the other, Prime Artists emphasized that “despite the efforts [made to minimize any technical issues], the band’s representatives stood by their decision to cancel the show.” With this situation now resolved, there is a new date set for the band’s return to Portugal.
