Lisbon is a city where artistic and cultural expressions flourish in different forms, with festivals being a real source of getting closer to the general public. In this context, the Iminente Festival is an event dedicated to culture, art and music.
However, the initiative will only return from September 17 to 20, 2026 and with a new address until 2027. After the Monsanto Panoramic, Matinha and Terreiro do Paço, among other places, the Iminente Festival has just announced that it will be moving to the former Afonso Domingues Industrial School in Marvila.

A brief look at the new ‘home’
The aforementioned school has been closed for 15 years, since 2010, when it was officially abolished. This was because it was in the way of the Third Crossing over the Tagus between Chelas and Barreiro, which would allow the high-speed train to pass through.
The former Afonso Domingues Industrial School was home to personalities such as José Saramago, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, and Fernando Santos, soccer coach and former ‘helmsman’ of the national team. With this initiative, the aim is to give this space back to the city.

Two hands full of Festival Iminente
The next edition is particularly important as it will coincide with the celebration of the festival’s 10th anniversary. That’s why, over the next few months, various initiatives will be held to mark this special milestone.
In fact, the kick-off of the celebrations is scheduled for September 21, at Praça do Carvão – MAAT Central, in the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology complex. During the afternoon, the results of the work carried out in recent years through the Iminente Community Art Workshops will be presented.
For the 2026 edition, both the official poster and the start date for ticket sales will be announced shortly.
