From the North to the rest of the country, francesinhas, Porto’s famous delicacy, are celebrated in various restaurants and food festivals. And the Lisbon Metropolitan Area is no exception.
From June 12 to 21, Jardim do Fogueteiro, in the municipality of Seixal, will host the 6th edition of the Francesinha Festival, with thousands of visitors expected.
The recipes of the Francesinha Festival

At Jardim do Fogueteiro, there’s room for all kinds of francesinhas. Traditional, made the old-fashioned way in a wood-fired oven, chicken, vegetarian, and even vegan.
Although this northern dish is the star of this culinary event, the truth is that there is room for another Portuguese delicacy: the prego no prato, available in chicken and veal varieties.
Participating restaurants
The 6th edition of the Francesinha Festival will feature several restaurants specializing in this delicacy, such as Alicantina, Alfândega Douro, and Santa Francesinha.
