In Porto and the northern region of Portugal, eating francesinhas is almost a ‘religion’ and this gastronomic delicacy has even been considered one of the best sandwiches in the world by the TasteAtlas platform. So if you’re a fan of this dish, here’s some news: the Francesinhas Festival is returning to Lisbon.
More specifically, between May 23 and June 1, all roads will lead to the Jardim do Arco do Cego. There, you’ll find all kinds of francesinhas, from traditional ones cooked in a wood-fired oven to vegetarian and even vegan options.
After visiting several cities, such as Coimbra, Setúbal, Maia and Seixal, the Francesinhas Festival returns to the capital after six years.
It should be noted that the gastronomic initiative will feature several restaurants from Porto. For example, other editions have included Alfândega do Douro, Alicantina and Cufra, among others.
Address: Jardim do Arco do Cego
Opening hours: May 23rd to June 1st, between 12-15pm and 19-22:30pm
Tickets: access to the space is free (you pay for what you consume)
