Many Portuguese are passionate about vintage cars. From North to South, there are often themed gatherings to bring together not only pieces from the past, but also their dedicated owners. This Saturday, October 11, starting at 10 a.m., Lisbon will experience one of these moments with a national gathering of classic Fiat 600s, in front of the Navy Museum in Belém.
The event aims to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the iconic model that marked generations, bringing together restored examples, stories and memories of those who lived (and continue to live) the passion for the world of engines. An initiative promoted by the Fiat 600 Portugal group, created spontaneously and informally to unite the national community.

A symbol of the 60s and 70s
Launched on the market in 1955, the Fiat 600 quickly became one of the most popular cars on the European continent. In Portugal, it achieved an even more special status from 1964 onwards. Why? Well, it began to be produced in Vendas Novas by SOMAVE.
An example of the popularity of the Fiat 600 model in the 60s and 70s in Portugal was the significant number of vehicles produced – a total of 9576 units by 1971.
So, as well as being a moment of sharing, the exhibition of classic Fiat 600s in Lisbon is also a nostalgic celebration of Portuguese automotive history.
