These Fado sessions at the Oceanário de Lisboa are called “Fado Miudinho” sessions because they are created especially for the little ones, the “kids”.
O Lisbon Oceanarium, which has always used us to admire the marine life that takes place at the bottom of the seas, but not only that, now offers a new experience that combines the magic of Fado with the beauty of the oceans.
Silence, you’re about to dive into Fado
These “Fado Miudinho” sessions will take place every first Sunday of each month at 9 a.m., transforming the huge aquarium into an authentic Fado house, in this case, a genuine Fado aquarium.
It’s a show designed for families with babies and children up to the age of 4, with the aim of awakening these little ones’ senses to music and, of course, to the aquatic life that we must preserve so much.
Leading these sessions will be Rosa Fadista, accompanied by the melodious chords of a Portuguese guitar and a guitar, transforming this experience into a unique immersive moment, where the soft lights of the giant aquarium serve as a backdrop to a multi-sensory concert.
Why should you go?
Among the many reasons already mentioned, we highlight the following;
- the experience, which will be memorable for all the children;
- the place where the Fado concerts will take place, next to the central aquarium which houses around 500 marine animals;
- the free visit, which all visitors can make after the Fado session, not only to the Lisbon Oceanarium but also to the temporary exhibitions, especially the exhibition “Submerged Forests by Takashi Amano”.
Address: Oceanário de Lisboa, on the D. Carlos I Esplanade
Time: first Sunday of every month at 9am
Tickets: 54€ per baby + two adults (includes visit to the entire oceanarium and temporary exhibitions)
Children’s Month at the Oceanário
In order to mark and celebrate the Children’s Day, which took place on June 1, Oceanário de Lisboa has created a new campaign where, until June 30, all visitors pay only €15, regardless of age.
This campaign also includes:
- A 60-minute activity to do with the family (accompanied by a marine educator);
- Free visit to the Oceanarium and the temporary exhibitions;
- Children will be able to meet the Vasco mascot at the exhibition;
- Face painting;
- Challenges, curiosities and bio-facts on “Shark Island”.
However, you have to be quick to buy your tickets (online only) because this campaign is limited to the capacity of each session.
