If you have trips booked on easyJet for October and December, you should pay close attention to the news and closely follow updates from the airline. This is because, on September 17, the carrier’s cabin crew in Portugal approved strike action for two separate periods as a form of protest against current working conditions in the country.
According to the information provided, the first phase of the easyJet strike, scheduled for October 2–6, is expected to affect a total of approximately 500 scheduled flights at the Lisbon, Porto, and Faro airports. However, minimum service requirements have yet to be defined.
This first strike could cause even more disruption for passengers as it coincides with the national holiday on October 5, a time when many Portuguese people may take advantage of a long weekend.

The second strike, also lasting five days, from December 19 to 23, will coincide with the Christmas season. No estimate is yet available for the number of flights that may be affected during this period, although the number is expected to be higher than in October.
According to Correio da Manhã, however, on Thursday, September 24, the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAV) called for an agreement at easyJet to avoid the strike announced for October and December, noting that this is a “particularly sensitive time for the tourism sector and for thousands of passengers.”
Until further notice, passengers with flights scheduled on these dates should monitor announcements from easyJet and check their reservations.
