The trams, which are normally housed at the CARRIS Museum, will once again run through the streets of Lisbon this coming Saturday, September 19. The Classic Trams Parade will make two trips—at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.—between Santo Amaro Station and Praça da Figueira, marking 125 years of electric tram service in the city and as part of the 2026 European Mobility Week program.
Tickets for the rides are already sold out, but the parade will pass through the streets and can be viewed for free by anyone who wants to watch the historic vehicles go by.
FreeOpen Day on Sunday

The following day, September 20 (Sunday), the CARRIS Museum will host an Open Day with free admission. The program includes tours of the operational areas at Santo Amaro Station, workshops, and rides on classic trams to Belém. The activities are free, but registration is required.
Inside the station, visitors can also view urban art installations by artists Bugster One, C’Marie, Daniela Guerreiro, Mariana Duarte Santos, and Jorge Charrua—the result of a partnership between CARRIS and the Urban Art Gallery (GAU), created specifically to celebrate the anniversary of Lisbon’s electric tram system.
An unmissable weekend for anyone who wants to see up close the vehicles that have shaped Lisbon’s mobility for over a century—and which are usually only found inside a museum.
