Chefs on Fire is back at Marechal Carmona Park in Cascais on September 19 and 20, in what promises to be the festival’s biggest edition yet. More than 40 national and international chefs will light their grills, collectively boasting 24 Repsol Guide Suns and 13 Michelin Stars —over the course of eight editions, the festival has already welcomed more than 60,000 visitors.
Madeira and Extremadura as guest regions
Among the new features of this edition is “Prova Portugal,” a new section that invites a different Portuguese region each year—this year, Madeira, represented by chefs Octávio Freitas (Desarma) and Filipe Janeiro (Gazebo). The international guest region is Extremadura, Spain, represented by chef Mario Clemente (Alberca).

The most international edition ever
The lineup also includes chefs from Brazil, France, Argentina, and Sweden —among them Lizandra Almeida (Pils, Brazil) and Petter Nyström (Familjen, Sweden), the two “Rising Stars” of this year’s Cascais festival.
Concerts and experiences beyond the bonfires
On the 19th, Silk Nobre, AGIR & Paulo de Carvalho, and Bateu Matou will take the stage. On the 20th, Carolina Deslandes will lead a jam session in the “Mesa” format, with DJ Xinobi closing out the night. Off the main stage, there are also workshops dedicated to cooking over an open fire, food photography, and beer, as well as artisans working live and talks on gastronomy—and a new festival app featuring a map, real-time menus, and surprise performances.
