The grand winner of “The Best Pastel de Nata” was revealed on September 28 at the Jardins do Marquês de Pombal in Oeiras: congratulations to Pastelaria Aloma, which has just won this award for the third consecutive time.
The decision has been made! For the third consecutive year, Pastelaria Aloma has proven that it masters the art of pastry-making in the capital by winning the 2026 edition of “Lisbon’s Best Pastel de Nata.”
With this victory, the brand has reached an impressive milestone of six wins in the competition’s history.
But Aloma wasn’t alone at the top of the leaderboard. Hundreds of entries from the Lisbon Metropolitan Area were in the running for the podium . Let’s take a look at the rest of the podium.
The secret: blind evaluations and in-store tastings

Without further ado, second place went to Ericeira, awarded to Pastelaria 7 Desejos, while Casa do Padeiro, in Odivelas, secured third place.
Upon winning, João Castanheira, owner of Aloma, did not hide his enthusiasm for the result:

Chaired by food critic Virgílio Gomes, the jury included leading figures in the field: pastry chefs Lara Figueiredo and Filipe Manhita, TV host Joana Barrios, food critic Teresa Vivas, chef Manuela Brandão, and content creator Diogo Pimenta.
The evaluation, conducted completely blind to ensure impartiality, leaves no room for error. The experts score the appearance, the texture of the pastry, the sound when bitten into, the consistency of the filling, and the overall flavor balance.
This year, the organizers raised the bar even higher. In addition to the grand finale (accounting for 70% of the score), a “mystery shopper” test was introduced in early September (30% of the score). The goal? To ensure that the pastry evaluated by the judges has the exact same quality, texture, and freshness as the one served daily to regular customers at the counter.
