Located in a small corner of the Serra da Arrábida, between the beaches of Coelhos and Galapinhos and the beaches of Monte Branco and Creiro, on the way to Portinho da Arrábida , Praia da Anicha (also called Praia da Anixa) gets its name from Pedra da Anixa, a small rocky island about 250 meters off this coast, famous for its marine biodiversity, which also serves as a zoological reserve and a point of interest for those who love diving, snorkeling and observing underwater life.

Praia da Anicha is difficult to access
Before venturing out on a hike to Praia da Anicha, there are some details you should be aware of, especially as it’s a refuge with very difficult access.
Since it has a very small stretch of sand, between many rocks, it makes this beach a very private place, offering a lot of privacy to its visitors.

However, at high tide, the space decreases even more, leaving only the rocks, so you should pay close attention to this detail and go there during low tide, via the accesses to Praia do Monte Branco, which in turn is accessed via Praia do Creiro, which is already a concession area.

Tranquillity and unspoiled nature
Because it’s difficult to access and depends on the height of the tides, this may well be one of the quietest beaches in Arrábida, so it’s ideal if you’re looking for silence and nature in its purest state, with crystal-clear waters and an incredible view of Pedra da Anixa, which you really want to visit every time you pass by.
For all this, Praia da Anicha does not have any kind of support infrastructure or surveillance, so you are on your own for the time you decide to visit.
One idea is to enjoy Praia da Anicha during low tide and, when the tide rises, go to Praia do Creiro, where you’ll have all these facilities back.
