It has been confirmed that Lisbon will once again be the host city for the next edition of the Tribeca Festival in Europe, in an announcement made during the second day of the festival, which took place last weekend in the Beato Innovation District.
Robert De Niro, who is one of the mentors of this project, highlighted the Portuguese capital as the ideal place to hold this event, thanks to its vibrant culture.
Another reason for the founders to continue betting on Lisbon for the second edition to be held out of doors (in New York), as the producer and co-founder of the Tribeca Festival, Jane Rosenthal, pointed out, is that our city can be the gateway to finding new talent.
The Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, emphasized the importance of this continuity,
Lisbon is the center of the world in this festival… For the first time, it’s leaving the United States and choosing one place in the world to come, and that’s Lisbon.”
The mayor also said that Lisbon City Council would continue to support the event, which brought cinema, music and innovation to Beato, including the various Talks, the free live concerts and, of course, the films.
