After being closed for three years for a major overhaul, the Arroios Swimming Pool in Lisbon will reopen to the public on September 1st. However, if you want to swim and/or join an aqua aerobics class, you should know that registration starts on August 15th.
According to information published in various media, the work was due to previous problems with the infrastructure, as well as legal difficulties and technical requirements.
In this context, the intervention at the Arroios Swimming Pool (closed since 2022) included the following points:
- Modernization of the changing rooms
- Installation of water heaters to supply hot water
- Repairs to the pool tank
- Updating the electrical networks, among other things.

The Arroios Swimming Pool has reopened with all the conditions to welcome its users. The essential works have been completed, guaranteeing a safe, comfortable and accessible space. All the technical inspections have been carried out successfully,” reads the officialwebsite of the Arroios Parish Council.
