The famous Irish clothing and accessories company Primark took advantage of its 15th anniversary in Portugal to announce the opening of four new stores, one of which will be in Greater Lisbon.
Already with 10 locations in Portugal, the four new stores will employ more than 500 people, in an investment of more than 40 million euros.
In a press release, Primark states that it is continuing to invest in the Portuguese market and that, in addition to opening four new stores in four different cities, it will also be expanding its existing store at Colombo Center, which is the largest Primark in our country, with over 6,000 square meters, is still the largest Primark in the world on a single floor.
By the end of this year, the Irish brand plans to open in the Montijo and, in two or three years, open new stores in Guimarães, Visei and Covilhã.
With this investment, there are now 14 Primark stores in Portugal, which stand out for their very competitive clothing prices.
Worldwide, Primark already has 445 stores in 17 different markets, having opened its first store in Budapest, Hungary, last month.
By 2026, the brand says it wants to reach 530 stores globally, with Portugal being among the retailer’s biggest bets, as well as Spain, France, Italy and even the United States.
