The walls of the Marvila neighborhood are preparing to welcome yet another wave of contemporary creativity: starting May 30, this area of Lisbon will take on a new visual dynamic with the arrival of the 11th edition of Poster Mostra, a cultural event that, for over 10 years, has challenged established artists and emerging talents to use the poster— the world’s oldest form of communication—as a medium for artistic expression.
This year, Poster Mostra brings together a total of 40 works that span disciplines as diverse as photography, painting, graphic arts, drawing, and illustration, in an exhibition itinerary that is divided between the historic streets of the neighborhood and the interior of the revitalized 8 Marvila complex .
Guided tour and opening day program

The official opening is scheduled for May 30 at 4:00 p.m., with the meeting point at Rua Amorim, near the historic Largo do Poço do Bispo. As is customary, this opening event will feature a guided tour led by Bruno Pereira, curator and artistic director of the exhibition.
Throughout this journey, you’ll have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the narratives, creative processes, and inspirations behind each poster, with several of the participating artists in attendance to share their insights .
At 5 p.m., head to 8 Marvila, where a second exhibition will be unveiled , showcasing all the works submitted to this year’s contest platforms.
The Creatives: Who is Exhibiting in This Edition

The Poster Mostra model is based on a balance between direct curation and the democratization of access through open competitions.
In this edition, the traditional Open Call Poster and Open Call Sandeman initiatives saw strong international participation, bringing to the walls of Lisbon proposals from creatives hailing from countries such as Canada, Spain, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, and Brazil.
Among the invited artists, highlights include Alexandra Cruz, Binau, Daniela Guerreiro, Francisco Gomes, Hugo Brazão, Inês Falafogo, Luís Perdigão, Mateus Cunha, Migwel, Núria Figueiredo, Osias André, Patricia Mendonça, Pedro Sadio, Teresa Freitas, and Tiago Miranda.
As for the winners of the Open Call Poster, they are Celina Amorim, Daniel Gómez Vega, Diego Fratini, Gabriel Miranda, Guillermo Vidal, Helena Mendes, José Marques, Joana Dornellas, Luís Cruz, Maciel Santos, Mar, Matheus Zaffani, and Paulo Mariano.
And the winners of the Sandeman Open Call: Ana Marques, André Lima, Fernando Faleiro, Albano Mouta, Laura Patrício, Rodolfo Barretto, and Thiago Storino.
