For the first time, Lisbon will host the Portuguese Guitar Festival, scheduled for March 7 and 8. The event aims to pay tribute not only to this typical instrument, but also to Carlos Paredes (1925-2004), as part of the centenary of his birth.
The music festival will take place in five venues in Lisbon, namely the three theaters of Cinema São Jorge and the Capitólio and Variedades theaters.
The program includes concerts and social gatherings, among other activities, in an initiative that will feature more than 80 musicians. Confirmed artists include Pedro Caldeira Cabral and José Manuel Neto.
In addition, the Portuguese Guitar Festival will feature lectures, documentary screenings, a workshop dedicated to the iconic instrument and much more.
At the end of each day, there will be a social gathering and an autograph session. You can see the full program and get more information here.
