Do you want to dive into an infinite space or, who knows, shrink until you fit in the palm of your hand? If the answer is yes, forget the idea of traditional museums where you can’t touch anything. At the Museum of Illusions in Lisbon, you are the main piece of the exhibition and your brain is the target of all the ‘trickery’.
Located on Rua Ivens, in Chiado, one of the busiest areas of the capital, the Museum of Illusions is a genuine invitation to the impossible, where the limits of reality are challenged from start to finish… and fun is the only certainty.
More than 20 ways to doubt your eyes

There are600m2 with more than 20 interactive installations, including immersive rooms, visual illusions, and mental challenges that test your perception and the five senses. In a world where science, art, and entertainment go hand in hand, get ready to lose your balance in the Vortex Tunnel, or travel aboard the 28 Tram ‘stuck’ to the ceiling.
Swapping noses with friends is also a possibility, or serving your head on a platter. If you prefer, you can multiply yourself and ‘invade’ this ‘alternative’ universe with your own clones. Don’t forget to experience an endless odyssey in the Infinity Room, or change size and feel like an elf or a giant in the Ames Room.
Another important thing: don’t let your phone run out of battery, as you’ll have the opportunity to take amazing photos and videos that willmake your social media profilemore appealing than any influencer’s.
The science behind the magic
But how is all this possible? The answer lies not in magic tricks, but in science. At the Museum of Illusions, each installation is designed to cause a “short circuit” in the visual system, confusing the clues that the eyes send to the brain. While you laugh, try to keep your balance, and let yourself be enveloped in a rainbow, you are actually having an educational experience.
We are a unique edutainmentdestination , where people can immerse themselves in the wonderful world of illusions! This museum offers a collection of mind-bending exhibits, works of art, and interactive experiences that challenge reality. You won’t believe your eyes,” explains Mary Anne Silveira, General Manager of the Museum of Illusions in Lisbon.
A space for all ages

In one of Lisbon’s most entertaining museums, imagination has no limits, but neither does age. In fact, the space is suitable for kids and adults alike, for a different kind ofdate, a reunion with friends, or a weekend outing with the family.
And if you want to take this madness to another level, the space allows you to hold private events in a separate room, such as birthday parties, team buildingmoments, and/or other corporate initiatives. Whatever the reason, at the end of your visit, will you really believe everything you see?
