Mercadona, the Spanish supermarket chain, continues to focus on its growth in Portugal. As recently as September, the brand announced that it was going to open a large store in the heart of Lisbon. But while this is not a reality, Mercadona is announcing the opening of another store in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
More specifically, Mercadona is coming to a new city, Barreiro, on Rua dos Resistentes Anti-Fascista, on December 12th. The opening is expected to create around 90 jobs on open-ended contracts.
What to expect from Mercadona in Barreiro?
In an official statement shared on its website, the brand informs that the new store will have a sales area of approximately 1900 square meters, divided between various sections, such as:
- Charcuterie
- Fishmonger
- Bakery
- Bakery
- Perfumery
- Butcher
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Ready to eat with self-service
With another store in the south of Portugal, the supermarket chain now has 60 stores throughout the country.
