Depression Martinho: last night’s damage in Lisbon, by area and parish
Fortunately, few people were injured, but the Martinho depression brought devastation to the city that had never been seen before, especially in terms of the trees that fell.
The 12th storm of the year was promising, but hardly anyone predicted that Depression Martinho would cause so much damage in the Greater Lisbon area.
The damage caused by the strong winds and gusts of Depression Martinho (the like of which we’ve never experienced before), was especially material – fortunately – and left the city upside down in some areas and parishes of the capital.
Most of the incidents were due to large trees falling, causing extensive damage, especially to cars and houses.
Below are some photos of the damage left by the Martinho depression all over the city.
