Traveling to New York is always on our minds and in the first simulation we did, departing on November 22 and arriving on November 28 (7 days), we managed to get a low-cost flight with Fly Play for just 328.65 euros.
However, despite being a fairly cheap trip, it includes a stopover in Iceland, at the airport in the country’s capital, Reykjavik, making the journey last more than 24 hours. It’s a case of saying: “When alms are plentiful, the poor are suspicious!”
But traveling to New York at these prices is only possible because baggage fees and seat reservations are not included, which can increase the total price by more than €400 in this Scandinavian airline’s Premium package.
Connecting Europe to North America
On the market this 2019, this is yet another Fly Play promotional campaign to connect the two continents, Europe and North America, based on its hub in the capital of Iceland, where you can even stay overnight (free of charge for up to 10 days) when planning your trips, whether to the Big Apple, Baltimore, Boston, Washington or Toronto (Canada), which are the cities to which this airline currently flies at these prices.
It should also be noted that, as with other low-cost airlines, prices are dynamic and change every day according to availability.
That’s why it’s a good idea to book as soon as possible, so that you can enjoy trips to these destinations at lower fares.
And yes, if you’re still wondering how many nights you can spend in Iceland under this promotion, it’s clearly part of Fly Play’s partnership with the Icelandic government to bring more tourism to this remote but beautiful land.
How does this stopover work?
Although you can stay up to 10 days for free, there are a few rules:
- You can stay in Iceland for up to 10 days on each trip of each booking you make;
- A stay reservation is available when booking transatlantic flights at no extra cost;
- The stay can be on the outward journey, the return journey or both;
- A stay booking does not include accommodation in Iceland.
