Lisbon is a leading tourist destination, having received the distinction of “Best City Break in Europe 2025″ at the World Travel Awards. However, the Portuguese capital is also consolidating its position in other areas. This time, it appears in the top 30 of the world’s most sought-after destinations for millionaires.
According to a press release from the Savills HNWI Hotspot Index to which Lisboa Secreta had access, Lisbon (26th), Cascais (33rd) and Quinta do Lago (43rd) stand out on the global wealth map.
Lisbon’s presence in the top 30 of the Savills HNWI Hotspot Index confirms the city’s international recognition (…). Lisbon combines history, innovation and a quality of life that is rare among major capitals, offering a unique balance between tradition, modernity and well-being. It is increasingly a global meeting point for those looking to live, invest and grow in a safe and inspiring environment,” said Rita Bueri, Head of Residential at Savills Lisboa, in a press release.

Interest continues to grow
According to the information, there seems to be no sign of stagnation in terms of interest in the country. In fact, Savills highlights the increase in the number of Americans throughout Europe, including Portugal. Along with the Americans, Portugal also continues to be one of the favorite destinations for Brazilians.
Who leads the world?
Lisbon is the only Portuguese representative to appear in the world’s top 30 destinations most sought after by millionaires, but it is still far from the podium, where no European city appears.
The Savills HNWI Hotspot Index is led by Dubai, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi, particularly attractive destinations for those looking to invest and do business, with legal security, high quality education and an appealing lifestyle.

The report’s methodology
To reach the final results, the report integrated into Savills’ Spotlight on Wealth Trends analyzed approximately 100 destinations around the world, based on the following main criteria:
- Business environment and concentration of wealth
- Family infrastructure and costs
- Succession planning
- Lifestyle and privacy.
