The Latin American Market is returning to Estoril (at FIARTIL) on September 26, 27 and 28, promising to become the epicenter of Latin American culture in Portugal, in an event that is already celebrating its 8th edition with a very diverse program for the whole family.
Much more than just a fair where the culture of various South American countries is shared, the Latin American Market is already seen as one of the biggest intercultural festivals in our country, which every year aims to bring the different communities closer together, promote the cultural wealth of Latin America and support small business entrepreneurship in Portugal.
What there is to see
A lot! From handicrafts, visual arts, typical South American gastronomy, dance and music, as well as workshops and an exclusive area for children to play or show their creativity with various activities.
This year’s edition will also pay special attention to the African roots present in many Latin American cultures, especially through the performance of Santiago Delgado y La Caterva, an Uruguayan candomblé group that represents this dialog between continents.
Latin American Market figures
The Latin American Market has been consolidated over the last seven editions. Last year alone, more than 10,000 paying visitors came to FIARTIL, as well as more than 3,000 participants including artists, entrepreneurs and their families.
This year, the organization is promising:
- 90 stands
- 5 restaurants
- 2 stages
- 3 days of raffles and lots of entertainment
One of the main highlights will be the musical program:
- Day 26 (Friday): concert by Grace Del Caprio and los Rumberos, with Afro-Peruvian rhythms on the main stage;
- Saturday 27th: performance by the Tango 21 group with a Tangotherapy session in the afternoon, followed by Brazilian forró with Isadora Melo and her band, direct from Pernambuco;
- Day 28 (Sunday): closing with a strong influence of Cuban and Colombian rhythms.
