
After Hermínia, it’s now the turn of the Ivo depression to put Portugal on alert. The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has put ten districts in mainland Portugal on red alert due to strong sea waves.
According to information from the IPMA, quoted by the RTP website, the red warning, the most serious, will be in force from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, until 6 a.m. on Thursday, January 30. These are the districts affected:
- Lisbon
- Oporto
- Faro
- Setúbal
- Viana do Castelo
- Lisbon
- Portugal
- Aveiro
- Aveiro
- Braga
According to the same sources, northwest waves of seven to eight meters are forecast, which could reach a maximum height of 15 meters.
