The red lights are about to go out on the Algarve asphalt of Portimão, for a three-day event (June 5–7) that is already buzzing with excitement to host two of the most intense competitions in the development of young drivers: the F4 Spanish Championship and the Eurocup-3.
If you follow four-wheeled motorsports closely, you know this won’t just be a weekend of racing; it’s an opportunity to see, live and up close in the paddock, some of the future international talents charting their course to the top of world motorsports.
Portuguese contenders on the F4 grid

The first highlight of this weekend is Round 2 of Formula 4, where all eyes will be on the home colors through driver Noah Monteiro, who arrives at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve brimming with confidence to challenge for the championship lead. He currently sits in second place , just 12 points behind Dutch driver Rocco Coronel, following the race in Valencia.
Right behind the Portuguese driver is Spaniard Aleix Piñera, 10 points behind, so any mistake on this demanding Algarve track could prove costly for Noah.
As for the teams, MP Motorsport leads the team standings, with Spain’s Griffin Core promising a fight on the Algarve’s “roller coaster.”
Eurocup-3: an open battle after dominance in France

While the F4 races are sure to feature constant battles, the Eurocup-3 grid will be no less intense.
American James Egozi arrives in Portugal as the man of the moment in the overall standings: his supersonic start at the Paul Ricard circuit in early May earned him three podium finishes, one of them a victory, making him the man to beat at the Portimão circuit.
In the following positions, Keanu Al Azhari and rookie Ean Eyckmans, who has been the big revelation of the moment, are ready to accelerate to the championship lead as early as round two.
As for team performances, MP Motorsport and Palou Motorsport seem to have no real competition, with 70 and 65 points, respectively, leaving Hitech GP in third place with just 46 points.
What can you expect from this weekend in Portimão?

One thing is certain: the Portimão circuit has a “reputation” for “not forgiving” any mistakes on the part of the drivers, demanding refined technique, and for that reason, every race is always packed with excitement and adrenaline.
Considered one of the definitive tests for drivers at the start of their careers, this track—which many call a “roller coaster” due to its unique characteristics— promises non-stop action, with elevation changes and braking points creating numerous overtaking opportunities; enormous talent from the drivers in the race, as they’ll have no margin for error in critical zones and blind corners; and close proximity to the grandstands, allowing you to experience the paddock atmosphere and the speed of these single-seaters up close.
