The rising cost of living has been making headlines in various media outlets, affecting numerous sectors and the wallets of many Portuguese people. However, what if, for a moment, instead of reading about yet another price hike, you focused on discounts? It’s true: CP—Comboios de Portugal—is running a special promotion with discounts of up to 80% on the Alfa Pendular.
How does the promotion work?
According to CP’sofficial website , the promotion runs through October 19 and is valid for trips taking place between the 8th and 28th of this month. However, there’s one small “catch” you need to be aware of: the promotion ends on that date—or earlier, if the 7,000 promotional seats made available by the carrier sell out.
To take advantage of the promotion, tickets must be purchased at least ten days in advance of the travel date. In addition, tickets can be purchased through the CP website and app, or at ticket vending machines, subject to the availability of promotional seats on each route.
Take a “trip” to Porto starting at 7.50 euros
These promotional trips cover all destinations served by the Alfa Pendular, including both Tourist Class and Comfort Class. Among the offers available, the following stand out:
- Lisbon–Porto starting at 7.50 euros in the “Turística” class and 10 euros in the “Conforto” class
- Lisbon–Coimbra and Lisbon–Faro starting at 5.50 euros in the “Turística” class
- Lisbon–Aveiro starting at 6.50 euros in the “Turística” class
- Lisbon–Braga starting at 8 euros in Turística class
- Porto–Faro starting at 12.50 euros in the Turística class.
