A blanket, popcorn, and a Christmas movie of your choice: from December 3 to 22, Cine Society moves indoors and sets up its Christmas season at Impact Hub Penha.
The screenings cater to a variety of tastes, from romances and comedies to movies you can sing along to and stories to watch with the whole family.
Christmas Classics and “Questionable” Christmas Movies
Among the classics that almost everyone knows by heart are:
- Home Alone
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- Love Actually
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
There’s also the list of those that always spark the same debate: “Is this a Christmas movie?”
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
- You’ve Got Mail
- Shrek
- Die Hard
- Twilight
Sandwiches, mulled wine, and popcorn
Food will also be part of this experience. Taza will serve sandwiches, dips, and desserts, and the bar has seasonal classics like mulled wine and hot chocolate.
And, of course, there’ll be plenty of traditional, freshly made popcorn!
Each screening includes a toy drive
This season’s Christmas movie series at Cine Society also has a charitable aspect, with the audience invited to bring toys—or whatever they can—to brighten a child’s Christmas. Donations will be collected at every screening and then forwarded to local charities.
According to Chris Wood, co-founder of Cine Society,
“Christmas is the time of year when we most seek out moments to share, and the movies play a very special role in that. With this indoor season at Impact Hub Penha, we want to offer a welcoming atmosphere, a diverse lineup, and experiences designed for everyone, from families to groups of friends.”
