MACAM’s new cultural space is called àCapela, it is a café-concert, and it opened its doors on June 19 (2025), ready to host live concerts and artistic performances.
Housed in the former deconsecrated chapel of the Palácio dos Condes da Ribeira Grande, àCapela promises to be a very special and unique place in the city, combining entertainment, heritage, and a very close intimacy between artists and the public, always in a very relaxed atmosphere .
This was the case at the opening
Restored 18th-century chapel.
The first events to take place at the new àCapela were on the opening day, with concerts by Nancy Vieira and Fred Martins.
The regular program will be curated by the production company Bands and Brands, with live music from Wednesday to Sunday, in genres ranging from Fado to Jazz, from MPB to Classical Music and even World Classics on Saturdays, with DJsets.
Except for concerts marked as paid admission, the rest are free to attend, subject only to a minimum consumption.
Café-Concerto with access to art

We confess that the Portuguese capital was sorely lacking a space like this. A relaxed place where you can enjoy music, have a drink, and even admire art.
At àCapela, while you relax and listen to music, you can enjoy a cocktail, sample some finger food , and observe the art installation by Spanish artist Carlos Aires, “Trinity,” designed especially for this space.

MACAM is one of Lisbon’s newest museums, having opened in March 2025, and combines a contemporary art museum with a 5-star hotel, the first of its kind in Portugal and Europe.
