In general, summer is the time of choice for historical re-enactments, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t take place at other times of the year, as is the case with the “Great Medieval Fair”. From October 17 to 20, the Arco do Cego Garden will transport Lisbon to the Middle Ages.
With free admission, this initiative is synonymous with lots of entertainment and a good plan for the weekend, whether you’re alone or accompanied. The program includes fire shows, oriental dancers, birds of prey, weapon fights and more.
Musically, the event will open in the Jardim do Arco do Cego with a performance by the group “Os Gaiteiros” and their theme “Corvus del Rei”. The medieval fair will also feature the animated presence of a court jester and a military encampment that recreates historic battles.
In addition, theater will play an important role, with performances guaranteed by groups such as “Os Arlotes”, who will present the figure of the Herald, the official messenger of the Middle Ages.
In addition to the cultural offer, the event will be attended by around 30 exhibitors with food and craft stalls. Are you in the mood to travel back in time?
