After Kristin, Portugal is preparing for the arrival of the Leonardo depression. In this context, along with some preventive safety measures, it is important to prepare a 72-hour emergency kit to deal with any eventuality.
In fact, the warning was issued by the National Republican Guard (GNR) itself, which shared some recommendations on its official Instagram page to help citizens put together their emergency kit.
What should the emergency kit contain?
From food to medicine, there are several items that cannot be left out of an emergency kit, namely:
- Water and non-perishable food for three days
- Flashlight, radio, batteries, and power bank
- Garbage bags
- Personal hygiene products
- Whistle, pocket knife, cash, and map
- First aid kit
- Essential medications
- Clothing, blanket, and sturdy shoes
- Copies of important documents in a waterproof bag
It is also recommended that you follow official communications from the competent authorities to avoid unnecessary risks.
