Se bem te recordas, esta não é a primeira vez que um grupo de baleias-comuns “escolhe” o largo de Lisboa para dar as suas “voltinhas”, tendo aparecido pela última vez no dia 23 de julho de 2023.
Desta vez, o avistamento aconteceu entre os dias 24 e 25 de maio, tendo sido encontrado um total de seis baleias-comuns, ocorrência esta que tem acontecido cada vez mais desde o ano de 2019, confirma o biólogo Sidónio Paes, da empresa Sea EO Tours, ao jornal Público.
Segundo o mesmo, que já o ano passado tinha dado conta de um avistamento semelhante, embora com menos elementos, uma das baleias-comuns estaria na companhia de uma cria.
Baleias-comuns em Lisboa: as razões
Na opinião de Sidónio Paes, o facto do canhão lisboeta passar rapidamente de 50 para 200 ou até mesmo 300 metros de profundidade, assim como o aumento da temperatura das águas, faz com que estes animais procurem alimento à superfície, sobretudo krill e sardinha.
As baleias-comuns são o segundo maior animal a viver no planeta Terra, logo a seguir à baleia-azul, chegando a medir entre 18 e 27 metros de comprimento.
Habitualmente apresenta uma cor acizentada e é conhecida pela sua velocidade, podendo mesmo atingir os 40km/h.
