Quem teve a sorte de filmar este grupo de baleias-comuns, considerado o segundo maior animal do mundo, logo a seguir à baleia-azul, foi a empresa SeaEO Tours, que faz viagens turísticas de barco para mostrar a vida animal nas águas do Tejo.
Já não é a primeira vez que isto acontece! No passado dia 23 de julho de 2023, puderam avistar, ali tão perto, um dos colossos do oceano, que ainda vinha acompanhada de cerca de 100 golfinhos, presença já habitual no estuário do Tejo, como podemos ver neste vídeo.
Grupo de baleias-comuns ao largo de Lisboa
Desta vez, no dia 19 de agosto, não foi apenas avista uma, mas várias destas baleias, ao largo da lagoa de Albufeira e da praia do Meco.
O incrível momento foi gravado por vários turistas que se encontravam na embarcação da empresa SeaEO Tours, que mais uma vez se encontravam bem posicionados neste local para poder presenciar este momento único, que tem sido cada vez mais frequente na nossa costa.
Em declarações à SIC, o biólogo marinho Sidónio Pais explicou que o avistamento deste grupo tem sido muito frequente no último mês e que, apesar da presença cada vez mais frequente desta espécie na costa portuguesa e no Canhão de Lisboa,
nunca foi avistada com tanta frequência.”
Este avistamento de baleias-comuns registou-se a cinco milhas náuticas da Lagoa de Albufeira e da praia do Meco.
Esta baleia é conhecida não só por ser um dos animais maiores do mundo, podendo chegar a medir entre 18 a 27 metros de comprimento.
Caracteriza-se por uma cor acizentada e branca na zona inferior e também é conhecida por ser um dos animais marinhos mais rápidos, podendo atingir cerca de 40km/h.
