Five days, full beer mugs, and a market transformed into a beer festival: Beerfest returns to the Algés Market for its fifth edition, from Thursday, October 1, through Monday, October 5.
The event has already become a staple of its kind in Portugal, and this year it’s back with more new features than ever. Let’s check them all out!
The big news: A two-hour Happy Hour every day

German cuisine remains a central part of this experience that will remind you of the “real” Oktoberfest.
The menu will feature classics such as pork shank with sauerkraut and roasted potatoes, German sausage with potato salad, beer-braised chicken with mashed potatoes, Flammkuchen, Käsespätzle , and the ever-present pretzel.
For sweets, highlights include Lebkuchen—traditional heart-shaped cookies— and caramel apples. There are also vegetarian options and brand-new culinary offerings exclusive to this edition.
As for drinks, the official beer remains Super Bock, and this year’s big news is Happy Hour from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a 2-for-1 deal on beer mugs.
Another new feature of this edition is the Beer Experience room, featuring workshops dedicated to beer culture.

Finally, entertainment will be provided by “Uzápressão,” the GM band paying tribute to Xutos & Pontapés, and the event hosts, who’ll ensure there’s plenty of dancing and traditional games like “Aguenta a Caneca.”
From Friday through Sunday , there will also be a DJ to liven up the atmosphere, which is sure to be festive and full of beer.
