A segurança, a modernidade, a qualidade das universidades e as infraestruturas fizeram da capital portuguesa um dos 21 lugares do futuro, segundo um estudo norte-americano encomendado pela Cognizant.
Num comunicado à imprensa, a empresa de serviços de tecnologia americana avançou que,
Lisboa foi escolhida entre mais de 150 cidades de todo o mundo, como um dos 21 lugares do futuro.”
Este posição coloca-a ainda entre uma das três cidades europeias da lista final.
A avaliação teve em conta critérios como a qualidade das suas universidades, o facto de a cidade se mostrar “sofisticada”, as infraestruturas e a segurança.
O acesso ao capital privado, um Governo estável, a facilidade em trabalhar, a oferta cultural e de entretenimento, e também por ser uma cidade que aposta na sustentabilidade, que pesaram na altura de escolher Lisboa como um dos locais de futuro, além da relação nível/custo de vida ser também muito bom.
O estudo distinguiu outras cidades como São Paulo (Brasil), Toronto (Canadá), Shenzhen e Haidian, Pequim (China), Telavive (Israel), entre muitas outras espalhadas um pouco por todo o globo.
Para a empresa que encomendou este estudo, os “21 lugares do futuro” é uma espécie de guia que permite aos governos e empresas retirarem conclusões sobre o sucesso destes lugares, que estão em constante expansão.
Segundo a Cognizant, o estudo foi definido ao analisar três elementos fundamentais: um Governo estável, a qualidade dos estabelecimentos de ensino e o acesso ao capital para investimento. E para que estes três pontos tenham sucesso, foram ainda analisados oito componentes que dão força a estes critérios:
infraestrutura física, ambiente (sustentabilidade), estilo de vida (diversidade e inclusão), cultura e entretenimento, “tijolos” (arquitetura), “clicks” (infraestrutura digital), grupos de talento e acessibilidade.”
