A 22ª edição do MONSTRA – Festival de Animação de Lisboa volta a “invadir” alguns dos espaços cinematográficos mais icónicos da cidade entre os dias 15 e 26 de março.
E este ano vai servir para comemorar o centenário do cinema de animação nacional, com a maior representação portuguesa de sempre em competição.
O evento mais conhecido de animação na capital vai ainda homenagear o Japão, numa celebração de amizade que já conta com 480 anos.

Uma das grandes novidades deste ano é o número de filmes e estreias mundiais, além de outros números igualmente importantes:

12 dias com o melhor do cinema de animação
A inauguração do MONSTRA – Festival de Animação de Lisboa vai acontecer no dia 15 de março na Sociedade de Belas Artes, com a exposição “site-specific” do artista e realizador alemão Raimund Krumme.
Depois, entre este dia e 26 de março, são muitos os filmes, exposições e masterclasses a que vais poder assistir, sendo que muitos deles terão convidados muito especiais.
Nos dias do festival mais animado do país serão exibidos mais de 400 filmes de todos os cantos do globo (perto de 50 países representados), no Cinema São Jorge, na Cinemateca Portuguesa – Museu do Cinema, na Cinemateca Júnior, no UCI El Corte Inglés e no Cinema City Alvalade, num total de oito estreias mundiais, 17 internacionais e 70 nacionais.
100 anos de animação nacional
O centenário da animação portuguesa vai fazer parte do cartaz principal, ao distinguir o passado, o presente e o futuro deste cinema, com a maior representação nacional de sempre em competição.
Sob o tema deste ano, Animação e Cultura, a MONSTRA destaca a inquietação assente na história da animação em Portugal, através de estéticas e opiniões variados.
Há 100 anos, o ilustrador Joaquim Guerreiro assinou o primeiro filme animado que se conhece, “O Pesadelo do António Maria”. Um século depois, “Ice Merchants” (em exibição e em três competições na 22ª MONSTRA), do realizador João Gonzalez, é a primeira produção do país nomeada para um Óscar.
Sobre a 22ª edição do Festival de Animação de Lisboa, Fernando Galrito explica que esta é
uma MONSTRA que comemora centenários, mas que mantém o olhar e uma programação vanguardista, qual manifesto de imagens em movimento, de pensamentos e de arte”.
