The São Jorge Cinema will once again be filled with comedy from August 28 to 30, with the second edition of the Worten Mock Fest. Over the course of three days, the festival brings together stand-up comedy, live podcasts, music, and talks, spread across five stages—four of which are free to attend.
Three international acts on the lineup
The Worten Stage, in the Manoel de Oliveira Hall, will host the three international headliners: Chris D’Elia opens the festival on Friday, the 28th, at 10 p.m.; Michelle Wolf takes the same stage on Saturday, the 29th, at 8 p.m.; and Sam Morril closes out the international lineup on Sunday, the 30th, at 10 p.m.
Five new talents on stage
The festival will also feature the five winners of the Worten Mock Test contest, which toured several Portuguese cities in search of new talent: Paulo Mimoso (Lisbon), Daniela Barbosa (Porto), Afonso Alturas (Loulé), Francisco Almeida (Leiria), and Júlio Faria (Coimbra), who will perform in “Jump in the Pool.”
According to the festival’s official website, all sessions are currently sold out, including the Worten Stage, Jump in the Pool, Worten Streaming, and the Room 3 talks.
Podcasts, music, and talks on the other stages
In Room 2—the ActivoBank Stage—the “Jump in the Pool” event takes place, featuring various national and international comedy acts over the three days, with free admission upon prior registration. The Rank Room hosts three daily podcast sessions, including “No Bad Vibras,” “Humor à Primeira Vista,” and “C de Conversa.” Room 3 is dedicated to free talks on comedy, creativity, and careers in the industry. Outside, the bwin Stage, set up on Avenida da Liberdade, offers free admission and a lineup featuring DJ sets and performances, including Manos Duarte, Eduardo Madeira, José de Pina, Frank Sanazi, and Terapia de Casal.
