The British trio will take the NOS Stage once again on the festival’s second day, July 9, joining the also-confirmed Faith No More.
This confirmation holds special significance for fans. Following the release of *I See You* in 2017, Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim, and Jamie Smith focused on their respective solo careers, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as *In Waves* (Jamie xx), *Hideous Bastard* (Oliver Sim), and *Mid Air* (Romy).
Lisbon is getting ready to hear The XX’s new album

Their hiatus as a band officially ended in 2025, the year they announced their return to the studio to record their fourth album. After returning to major international stages in 2026, their 2027 tour stop in Portugal comes at a time of renewal for the group.
With nearly six million monthly listeners on streaming platforms, The XX remain a leading force in British indie pop. Their rise was meteoric: their self-titled debut album, released in 2009, earned them the Mercury Music Prize, and its follow-up, *Coexist* (2012), topped the charts in the United Kingdom. Together, their first two albums have sold over four million copies worldwide.
The July 9 performance at NOS Alive’27 will be the perfect opportunity for Portuguese audiences to rediscover one of the most distinctive sounds of the last decade, in a concert that is expected to blend the band’s classics with new tracks from their highly anticipated fourth album.
