In 2024, New York’s Tribeca Film Festival ‘jumped’ the Atlantic Ocean and made its debut in Lisbon with a veritable ‘shower of stars’ from the world of cinema and entertainment. This year, the Tribeca Festival Lisboa returns to the capital with an extra day of programming.
According to information quoted by Expresso this Tuesday, March 11, the event will take place between October 30 and November 1, 2025, in the middle of autumn, at the Unicorn Factory in the Beato Innovation District. The event has also grown to three days.
For this year’s edition, Portuguese fans and beyond can look forward to:
- The screening of independent films from the USA
- Portuguese films, series and podcasts
- Musical performances
- Conversations with leading figures in national and international cinema
The Tribeca Film Festival was created in the early 2000s by famous actor Robert De Niro, producer Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 tragedy. Since then, the event has grown to encompass various art forms besides cinema, such as music and games.
