Located in the arrivals area of Lisbon Airport, the Arte Box installation welcomes all travelers arriving in our city by air with a powerful introduction to the country through heritage and contemporary creativity. One of the most recent shows begins today, September 30, with the exhibition by travel photographer Nico Trinkhaus: “CORação – Colours of the Heart”.
Known for being one of the most important international names to focus on this photographic theme, Nico Trinkhaus captures, in an intense and engaging way, everyday life in cities, as well as recognizable European landscapes.
Born in Germany but living in Portugal since 2019, Trinkhaus “connected” with our territory in an artistic way, and this project is the reflection and culmination of this passion, through nine photographs that explore the chromatic diversity of Portugal, from the banks of the Tagus to the Atlantic cliffs of Praia do Norte, in Nazaré.
CORação – Colours of the Heart
This exhibition invites visitors to slow down and observe the Portuguese territory with a different sensibility, finding energy and belonging in each shade, as if each photograph were a painting.
In the words of Nico Trinkhaus,
An airport is a place of pause and transition. Exhibiting in this space means offering any traveler a moment of contemplation and connection with Portugal. I am deeply grateful that Arte Institute believes in this vision.”
For Ana Miranda, director of Arte Institute, the decision to invite a non-Portuguese artist to occupy Arte Box reflects an open and inclusive vision:
