From the north to the south of Portugal, the lighting up and inauguration of Christmas attractions is multiplying at a rapid pace. After all, we’re officially heading towards the most magical time of the year. So, how about ‘discovering’ the “Biggest Christmas Tree” in the country?
Over 50 meters high, the “Largest Christmas Tree in Portugal” is installed in the Ermesinde Urban Park, in the municipality of Valongo , which belongs to the Porto Metropolitan Area. There, you can marvel at its beauty and more.
There’s also a 200 square meter natural ice rink where you can skate (and fall) to your heart’s content with friends, family or your partner.
You can also take the opportunity to visit another Christmas attraction. Right next door, in the city of Valongo and the county seat, there’s a Giant Christmas Ball over ten meters in diameter, perfect for taking lots of photos.
Until when can you visit the “Biggest Christmas Tree”?
The lights came on last November 8 and will remain on until January 5, 2025.
How long does the journey take?
The municipality of Valongo isn’t exactly next door, so you can add this trip to your getaway to the north of Portugal.
In all, the journey takes approximately 3h30 minutes to cover around 320 km on the highway, depending on the route you choose.
